Research should be readable by everyone
NordicFX Research Desk aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This statement records what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we fall short.
What we have implemented
- Semantic HTML structure with one H1 per page and a logical heading order.
- Text and interface contrast checked against WCAG AA in both light and dark themes.
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus states on links, buttons and inputs.
- Descriptive alt text on every content image, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Content readable without JavaScript: articles are delivered as server-rendered HTML.
- Responsive layouts that reflow to 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling.
- Form controls in the calculator carry visible labels rather than placeholder-only hints.
Motion and animation
Animations are limited to gentle fades and floating decoration, with no flashing content. If your operating system requests reduced motion, browsers apply that preference to these effects; none of them carry information, so nothing is lost when they are disabled.
Themes
Light is the default theme. A toggle in the header switches to a dark theme and stores your choice locally, so it persists across pages and visits.
Known limitations
- The live market ticker updates continuously; it is decorative context, and every figure it shows is also available in article text.
- Some data tables in research pages require horizontal scrolling on very narrow screens.
- Long articles do not yet include an in-page table of contents.
Feedback
If any page is difficult to use with a screen reader, keyboard or magnifier, tell us and we will treat it as a defect rather than a suggestion. Related pages: editorial policy, terms of use and HTML sitemap.
